Darling we’re the Young’uns

A longstanding folk club is back with its new season of Sunday night gigs starting this weekend.

Hitchin Folk Club, which has been inviting top musicians to the town since the 1960s, kicks off another year at its Sun Hotel home with Hartlepool’s The Young’uns who are touring their fourth album, set for release on September 10.

Club organiser Keiron Jones said: “This trio play traditional folk with passion and gusto. A fresh and dynamic band, their close harmony singing covers traditional sea and working songs alongside more recent compositions. It’s not just about the vocals though, keyboard, piano accordion and guitar also bolster The Young’uns sound, as does their charismatic stage presence.”

Non-member entry is £12 from 7.30pm.
