Art exhibition evening in Hitchin

AN EVENING of art will be held in Hitchin on Monday.

Work by nine artists in the area will be on display at The Croft in Bancroft from 6pm to 9pm, with complimentary nibbles and special drink offers available.

Among those exhibiting is Hitchin resident Emmeline Webb, whose work is heavily influenced by her love of textiles and the decorative arts.

Self-taught artist Anna Sophia says she hopes to “bring a little bit of Heaven to earth” through her work, while Sarah Graham’s method of painting attempts to create the illusion of three-dimensionality.

“It is a great chance for Hitchin to see the amazing work that is being created right under its nose,” said the bar’s supervisor Gemma Smith.
