Keith Keane is set to be out of action for three months.

The midfielder, who was on loan from Preston North End, has returned to his parent club from Stevenage following a shoulder injury picked up against Portsmouth just under two weeks ago.

The 28-year-old, who played for Graham Westley at Preston, signed for Boro on a one-month loan at the start of March before extending the deal last month until the end of the season.
