Goalkeeper looking for more first team opportunities

Former Boro goalkeeper Ashley Bayes has signed for Basingstoke Town.

The veteran stopper left Stevenage this summer to pursue more first team opportunities in addition to developing his coaching career.

Bayes, who counts Exeter City and Torquay United among his former clubs, joined Boro in 2008 but found his first team opportunities limited to just 12 starts and two appearances from the bench during his time at the club.
