Shefford and Sandy U14s continue their successful campaign in national competition.

Shefford and Sandy Hockey Club u14 girls faced Wisbech and Cambridge City at ‘Fortress Sandy’ in the winter sunshine on Sunday.

The girls’ first match was against Wisbech. It was a lethargic start but eventually Shefford found a way through the Wisbech defence, with a fine strike pinged nicely into the goal.

Wisbech found themselves pinned back in their own half as Shefford dominated the match. As the game progressed, the goals just kept on coming and the girls romped home 7-1 winners.

The second match was against Cambridge City. The Shefford girls started cautiously but gradually asserted themselves and passed the ball confidently and intelligently around the pitch. After the first goal went in it was clear there was only going to be one winner.

Shefford were cool, calm and collected and thoroughly deserved their 6-1 victory. Goals from Phoenix, Grace, Corinne and Freya.
