Hitchin Ladies played their second league game of the season on Sunday at Old Hale Way against local rivals Stockwood Park.

After yet another successful recruitment drive the ladies were spoiled for choice with 27 players available for the game.

Hitchin started strongly, scoring their first try within five minutes, and continued to dominate throughout, eventually scoring a total of nine tries and five conversions to pass a half century of points without reply.

Hitchin used the game as an opportunity to give some newer players some game experience and it paid off with one of the tries coming directly from flanker Flo Oetgen’s first ever match pass.

Captain Emma Cramphorn said: “It’s fantastic to see the ladies getting together to create some exciting rugby.

“The win today gives us a great base to build on in training this week to take it to the next level against Harlow on Sunday.”

The ladies hope to build on this success and are aiming for promotion this season.

The success continues off the pitch with this year’s charity calendar hitting the national papers once again and pre orders flying in from around the world.
