A three-try blast in the first 30 minutes was enough to give Stevenage Town a 36-7 win over Welwyn at Allianz Park and take the Herts Presidents’ Tankard.

Hitchin’s hopes of an appearance at the President’s Tankard final at Saracens’ Allianz Park have been dashed after extra-time at Welwyn RFC.

Datchworth completed the London Three North West double over local rivals Hitchin to secure a top half finish on the final day of the season.

The final round of London Three North West matches took place at the weekend with Stevenage Town closing their campaign with a 50-32 win over St Albans.

Stevenage Town won 26-24 at relegation-threatened Finchley in London Three North West.

Datchworth lost 35-17 at St Albans which means they are not entirely safe from relegation going into the final league match of the season.

Letchworth lost 38-13 in front of a large and vociferous home crowd at Sudbury in London One North.

After three disappointing performances, Hitchin brought their A game to Old Hale Way to beat fourth-placed Grasshoppers 43-14.

Datchworth were unable to halt their losing London Three North West streak as it stretched to five as they lost 26-13 at home to a determined Finchley.
