The wonderful Hitchin Rugby Club is again the host for the eagerly-awaited Hitchin Beer and Cider Festival – which promises to be the biggest and best yet!

Datchworth’s Nick Gudgin believes his side can gain confidence from their end of season run – even though it ended with a 46-20 defeat to Hemel Hempstead in the Herts Presidents’ Tankard final.

Datchworth reproduced the type of stirring display that has been a feature of their late-season recovery but it wasn’t enough to stop Hemel Hempstead claiming the Herts Presidents’ Tankard in a 46-20 success.

Letchworth Rugby Club lost 97-0 to Chingford at the weekend.

Already-relegated Hitchin lost 22-5 to Verulamians on Saturday.

Hitchin’s relegation from London North West Three was confirmed after a 51-12 defeat at home to Old Streetonians.

A school from Shefford has made history by becoming the first-ever state school to make a national rugby final.

Hitchin gained revenge on Cheshunt to ensure their progress in the Herts President’s Tankard competition.

Datchworth’s green shirts were faced with a wall of yellow in their 18-15 defeat at St Albans – as indiscipline cost them too often at crucial times.

A bonus-point 25-17 win over Hitchin saw Datchworth leap up to eighth in the London North West Three table and slightly ease their relegation fears.

Letchworth lost to Diss 41-7 at Legends Lane at the weekend.
