Reds build on early lead
An above average crowd at Forde Park saw Langford deservedly take all the spoils against their high flying visitors.
In the winter sunshine an end to end game of attacking football started with the Reds going in front after just six minutes with Kim Forsythe neatly glancing home a cross from the left wing.
Just as in the game at Clarence Park early in the season the pace and strength of Forsythe and James Peters troubled the visitors defence from the start and Peters appeared to be brought down in the area midway through the half only for the referee to wave away the appeals.
Dom Petrucci almost levelled for St Albans with a mazy dribble past three defenders only to be foiled by Grant Beckwith in the home goal.
The pace in the Langford attack reaped benefits in the opening stages of the second half. First Byrne burst into the visitor’s area and was brought down, but Forsythe side footed the penalty against the post.
The on 52 minutes a long ball from Ryan Ellis saw Peters outpace the defence and cleverly lob the ball over the advancing keeper.
Worse was to follow for the visitors when Petrucci was shown a second yellow and reduce them to 10 men, but as so often happens the 10 men raised their game and reduced the arrears on 70 minutes when some clever inter passing saw Taylor reach the bye-line and his low cross was tapped in by substitute Treymane Charles.
The game looked in the balance for only the briefest of moments as Langford deservedly scored their third of the match on 82 minutes when Nathan Moulton took advantage of a lucky rebound and surged into the area to fire low past Bailey to wrap up the points their vibrant display deserved.
