Malpeli sets club record as NHRR take to Manchester, Rome, Prague and Letchworth

Nick Malpeli kicked off the spring season for North Herts Road Runners with a club record at the Greater Manchester Marathon.

The NHRR athlete finished 191st and fourth male veteran aged 50+ in two hours 54 minutes four seconds.

Elsewhere nine Squirrels took on the Oakley 20 and first home for the club in 15th was Darren Saunter in 2:10:10 followed by Darren Matussa in 2:17:17 and John Auld who finished in 2:17:43.

Kat Burr ran 2:46:42 ahead of Oliver Garbas 2:50:12, Barbara Sayers 2:53:23, Caroline Thrussell 2:57:46, Jane Clarke 3:03:40 and Naomi Parkinson 3:12:24.

Jo Summers clocked up a marathon in Rome finishing in 3:40:00 while Michelle Grudzinski ran the Prague Half Marathon in 2:04:18.

Chris Stokes crossed the line in 1:32:44 at the Lee Valley Half Marathon while 93 runners enjoyed the First Saturday of the Month at Norton Common, Letchworth, and Ed Price’s winning time was 17:06.
