The hugely-talented 2024 Olympic badminton prospect Leona Lee has landed another haul of gold, this time on the continent.

Leona, 12, who attends Hitchin Girls School travelled to Heerlen in Holland to take part in the Carlton International Youth Tournament and won two trophies.

Showing fighting spirit the young prodigy triumphed in the singles beating rival Tashvi Parab 21-16 to win her first international gold. She then teamed up with her England doubles partner Chloe Dennis to edge past a German pair in three sets to clinch her second gold putting on an immaculate performance as the pair won the crucial third set 21-15 in front of a passionate crowd.

Speaking to CometSport Leona said: “I had a fantastic time playing against all different standard of players from all over Europe and it was a great experience especially, winning my first golds in an international tournament”
