The 22-year-old has joined Boro on a temporary deal until the end of the season – signing a new contract at The Den before making the move – and will provide competition for number one, Joe Fryer.

King has played against Darren Sarll’s side this season, keeping a clean sheet as his parent club beat Stevenage 2-0 in the EFL Cup back in August.

The goalkeeper made a total of 17 appearances for the Lions last season – 11 of those in League One as Millwall earned promotion to the Championship – having spent the 2015/16 season on loan at Welling United and Braintree Town.

King also has one appearance for the England U17, playing alongside now Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw in a 1-0 defeat to the Czech Republic back in 2011.

The loan move will see him link up with former Millwall team-mate Joe Martin at the Lamex.
