Stevenage will travel to Norwich City in the Carabao Cup first round in mid-August it has been revealed – from Vietnam.

Boro were picked out of the hat in the draw which took place in Saigon, now known as Ho Chi Minh City in south of the country on Friday morning.

The Lamex outfit lost to Millwall in last season’s first round draw, and in 2015 they were beaten by City’s East Anglia rivals Ipswich Town.

Daniel Farke’s side pushed Arsenal all the way in last season’s competition before missing out on a place in the quarter-finals with a 2-1 extra-time defeat at the Emirates after supersub Eddie Nketiah grabbed a memorable brace on his first team debut for the North London giants.

The match at Carrow Road will take place in the week commencing August 13.

New rule changes have also been introduced for this year.

If scores are level after 90 minutes there will be no extra-time, with matches going straight to penalties, although the final will feature extra time and penalties if required.
