Eagles come from behind to beat Bovingdon

Letchworth Garden City Eagles 3 Bovingdon 1

Eagles kept their slim promotion chances alive with a comfortable 3-1 win over Bovingdon at Pixmore.

Going a goal down through a header from a corner after 10 minutes woke Eagles up, and they eventually sprang into life.

The equaliser came when Joe De La Salle robbed the left-back of possession and drilled in a low cross which was turned into his own net by a defender.

Several second half chances came and went, most notably when Ben L’Honore headed wide when it looked easier to score, before De La Salle continued his fine scoring run when he fired a shot across the keeper after latching onto a ball over the top.

Later, substitute Danny large rounded things off with a close range effort towards the end, with Bovingdon barely threatening Michael Johnson’s goal for the remained of the game.

Eagles: Johnson, Pennery, Garwood (Large), Brown, Locke, Holland, Gittings (Platt), Gregson, Pateman, L’Honore, De La Salle.
