Chris Nunn’s Biggleswade Town side grabbed a 2-0 win at troubled Merthyr Town after earning a valiant 2-2 draw against league leaders Kings Lynn on Tuesday to continue their impressive run.

The Waders are unbeaten in five of their last six Evo-Stik Southern Premier League matches, a remarkable turnaround after their six game winless run ended in November.

Liam Brooks’ double in the 72nd and 77th minute was enough for a Waders win at a mist shrouded Penydarren Park, a 204 mile drive away from the Carlsberg Stadium.

Nunn was sent off in Tuesday night’s Kings Lynn fixture. Waders were 2-1 up at half-time thanks to a George Bailey strike and another Liam Brooks goal, before Craig Parker levelled up for the away side in the second half after Michael Clunan scored in the first half.

Biggleswade return to league action on Saturday, facing Tiverton Town, a side comfortably in the top five.
