Hitchin Town’s pre-season friendly with Hemel Hempstead Town on Monday has been cancelled due to lack of match officials – the second time in two days that a Canaries game against the Tudors has been called-off.

Monday evening’s fixture against Dean Brennan’s side has been postponed due to a lack of officials.

The situation comes fast on the heels of Saturday’s Herts Charity Cup final match against the Vauxhall Road outfit failing to take place for safety reasons.

Representatives from Hemel raised objections at the weekend over the ‘rock hard and bumpy’ pitch at Berkhamsted – where the game was due to take place. More to follow...
