Hitchin Belles U13s have been crowned champions of Herts Girls Football Partnership League Division Two.

Belles played host to Watford in their final league match of the season and ran out 7-1 victors, leading to wild celebrations at the end.

The Belles started at a furious pace and were rewarded with an early goal from a powerful shot from Aoife Ward. The lead was doubled five minutes later from the excellent Kayleigh Gray before a third, a header, came from Lisa Granhed.

Ward soon got her second but Watford battled hard and scored only to see the Belles hit back with three further goals scored by Ella Carr, Olivia Wisdom and a stunning finish by Rhiannon Lawrence.

The club’s U8s took on Garston Pumas and scored five goals. Ellie Taylor scored three and Madison Smith two. Keira Fair was player of the match for her overall performance in a number of positions around the pitch.
