Stevenage & North Herts group have organised three starter rides and a taster session
After the success of Bike Week, which took place last week and included the Stevenage Circular Challenge, the Baldock Cycle Challenge, Teddy Bears’ Picnic (Bears on Bikes) ride, six evening rides and a Saturday Starter, Stevenage and North Herts CTC are once again organising three Starter rides and a taster for newcomers this weekend.
On Saturday the club’s taster ride is part of Stevenage’s warm up for the London 2012 Olympics.
For this Five Miles to Fabulous ride meet Tina Walker in Shephalbury Park (SG2 8RH) at 12pm.
The same day, but in the afternoon, the Saturday Starter is to Tewin and back.
Anyone interested in taking the ride is asked to meet at Costello’s Cafe in Fairlands Valley Park, Stevenage (SG2 0BL), in time for a 2pm start. There will be a break during the ride at the village fete.
There’s a “Double D” on Sunday, July 1 in connection with the Fairlands Valley Park Open Day.
For the first Sunday Starter meet at Costello’s Cafe at 10am for a sociable ride to Ardeley where there will be a refreshment break. Later that day, at 2pm, riders are asked to meet for the afternoon starter trip to Whitwell.
Tomorow evening (Friday, June 29) there is an Evening Extra to Gosmore and back.
Meet Jim Brown near Springfield House Community Centre in Old Stevenage (SG1 3EJ) in time for a 7.15pm start.
All of these rides are free and all will be led and swept by experienced CTC leaders so no-one gets left behind. Newcomers are welcome.
Cyclists can try a few rides before joining the CTC.
Just turn up with a roadworthy bike (plus lights in the evening) and some money for the refreshment breaks.
