A WOMAN was threatened by a man before being robbed in broad daylight last week.
The incident occurred between 9.25am and 9.40am last Tuesday while the female victim, in her 50s, was walking across a railway bridge near to Icknield Way in Letchworth GC.
The woman was approached from behind and threatened by a male offender. He told her to drop her bag, containing a purse and money, which he then took.
The offender left in the direction of Icknield Way with the bag, which was a Tesco hessian bag for life.
Det Con Simon Goodship, investigating, said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened, saw a man acting suspiciously or saw a man with a Tesco bag as described to contact police. I am confident there will have been people in the area, if you were please call.”
Anyone with information about the incident should contact DC Goodship via the Herts Police non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference number G2/12/1133. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
