The trapped woman was rescued by police officers after the blue Ford Focus she was driving ended up on its roof after a collision with a black Vauxhall Corsa at the junction of Fairlands Way and Mobbsbury Way at around 7.30pm.

Paramedics treated the woman at the scene before taking her to Lister Hospital with minor injuries.

The male driver of the Vauxhall was uninjured.

Police closed Fairlands Way to the junction with Derby Way until shortly before 9pm while the damaged car was recovered.
