Plenty of prizes were up for auction – including a Jack Daniel’s guitar, a gin experience day, a British Lions Rugby dinner with autographs, and much more.

The money raised was split between Garden House Hospice Care – based in Letchworth – and the Alzheimer’s Society.

Three Horseshoes manager Chris Cody said: “Everyone who donated the prizes were awesome, so many thanks to them.

“Our customers were also very generous, especially Down Memory Lane of Letchworth, who contributed significantly.

“We chose these charities because my dad was looked after by the hospice in 1996. They are just amazing people who work there.

“A friend of mine has recently lost her mother to Alzheimer’s and has been raising funds towards this charity.”
