Welwyn Garden City’s New QEII Hospital and Stevenage’s Lister Hospital are both running a near normal service following last Friday’s cyber attacks.

The East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust confirmed on its website that IT services have now been largely restored, but also warned users they may still experience delays.

The statement continued: “If you have an appointment at the hospital, please assume it is still going ahead.

“Please only come to A&E if it is absolutely essential. Call NHS 111 for urgent medical advice or 999 if it is a life threatening emergency.

“Although our pathology service is still not operating at full capacity, our IT team are making good progress.

“Currently, we are not providing a service for non-urgent (routine) blood tests at the Lister, New QEII or Hertford County hospitals.

“Our switchboard (01438 314333) is now running normally. From 12.30pm today (Thursday, 18 May 2017), diabetic eye screening patients should attend their appointment as normal unless contacted by the team directly.

“The out-of-hours GP service at the New QEII is for booked appointments only. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.”
