Young and old are set to come together in Stotfold this month for the town’s annual community litter pick as part of the national Big Tidy Up.

The annual community effort will take place this year on Saturday, September 16.

Stotfold Town Council hopes to rally guides, scouts and army cadet groups to help organise the volunteers – but all are welcome to help.

The clean-up starts at 10am on September 16 at the Greenacre Centre off Valerian Way and Buttercup Road. The town council will provide litter pickers and gloves.

A town council spokeswoman said: “We organise the Big Tidy Up each year, and we ask for help from our residents, groups and volunteers to help tidy up key areas in the town.

“Refreshments will be provided for volunteers on the day. Please help us be proud of our town and community.”

To find out more about the national initiative, which last year involved 1,320 events and 30,151 volunteers, see thebigtidyup.org.
