Police and paramedics were in Letchworth town centre yesterday evening amid concerns for the welfare of a man who had lost consciousness.

Police were called to Broadway Gardens at 6.08pm, after concerns were raised for the welfare of the man – described by emergency services as aged in his 40s.

An ambulance crew, rapid response vehicle and community first responder were on the scene from 6.20pm, and treated the man before taking him to Stevenage’s Lister Hospital.
