A van driver was taken to hospital this morning after being involved in a collision with a lorry in Baldock.

Police have confirmed that a person was trapped following the incident – which happened on Norton Road – involving a white Citroen drop side lorry and a white Mercedes Sprinter van.

A police spokeswoman said that some timber on the lorry had come loose and gone through the windscreen of the van.

The driver of the van was taken to Stevenage’s Lister Hospital with slight injuries.

The fire service attended the scene to assist, and the road was closed while ambulance and fire crews dealt with the crash.
