A Sainsbury’s Local store in Letchworth town centre was targeted by thieves twice on Christmas Eve.

Between 5.25am and 5.30am on Sunday offenders forced entry into the Eastcheap supermarket where they took wine and spirits from behind the counter and made off in a car.

Later that day, between 11.15am and 11.30am, the store was targeted a second time when a man left the shop with spirits he had not paid for. He exited the car park in a silver Ford Focus in an unknown direction.

Anyone with any information regarding the break-in theft should call police on 101 quoting reference number G2/17/2986, or if you have information regarding the second man, quote reference number G2/17/2988.
