Teen left with serious injuries after late night Hitchin assault

A TEENAGER was left seriously injured, after three men assaulted him while he was talking with his girlfriend.

The 18-year-old victim, from Baldock, suffered a fractured cheekbone and a black eye, after the men punched and kicked him in Paynes Park, Hitchin, around 3.20am on Sunday.

The victim was talking with his girlfriend when they were approached by the offenders. After the attack, the offenders left the scene.

Detective Constable Lisa Turner from the Local Crime Unit in Hitchin said: “This was a particularly vicious attack which at present has no real motive.

“I would urge anyone who saw what happened or who has any knowledge which would be of assistance to our investigation to contact police.”

The first offender is described as a white man in his late teens, 5ft 9ins tall, of medium built with short brown hair. He was clean shaven and wearing a black hooded top and black jeans.

The second offender was a white man in his late teens, 5ft 5ins tall of a large built with dark hair. He was wearing a green and white shirt which was either striped or checked.

The third man is described as in his late teens, 5ft 9ins tall and of a thin build. He was wearing a light coloured shirt and jeans.
