A local animal rescue centre has launched a new app to celebrate the place our pets hold in our hearts.

Kimpton’s Blue Cross has created the Superstar Pet app, where people can shoot short personalised videos of their animal and share it on social media. This campaign aims to celebrate pets and raise awareness of animals who are waiting to be rehomed.

BBC Strictly Come Dancing professionals Katya and Neil Jones have used the app. Katya said: “As well as dancing, our other big passion is our dog Crumble Jones. She’s one of the family and we love her to bits.

“Sadly not all pets are lucky enough to have owners who can care for them or homes to call their own, and we are honoured to be supporting Blue Cross’ new campaign.”

Kimpton centre Manager, Kellie Brooks, said: “Our new app is a really fun, easy and exciting way for people to support Blue Cross, celebrate what their pet means to them and spread the word about the great work Blue Cross do to help pets in need and change their lives for the better.”
