Stotfold motorcyclist who died when bike hit Hitchin lamppost is named by police

A motorcyclist from Stotfold who tragically died when his bike hit a lamppost in Hitchin has today been named by police.

Steven Rodick, 35, of Hyde Avenue, was riding along Woolgrove Road at 7.16pm of Thursday, August 17, when he crashed into a lamppost – for reasons police said remain unknown at this stage.

Mr Rodick died at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

Anyone who saw the crash or has information that could help police should call 101.
