Officers arrested a woman on the side of the A602 in Stevenage this morning after a short car chase around the Old Town.

Police were called to the King George Surgery in Stevenage High Street at 8.12am, amid an allegation a woman was “behaving in an aggressive manner”.

After enquiries, police unsuccessfully tried to stop a car. Shortly afterwards, at about 9.30am, it stopped for officers on the A602 Lytton Way, just before the roundabout for Trinity Road.

A Stevenage woman in her 40s was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop and common assault. She remains in police custody.
