Road closed after collision in Hitchin

A ROAD was closed this morning (Thursday) after two cars collided in Hitchin.

Police were alerted to the incident on Fishponds Road at 11.10am this morning, after a silver Vauxhall Astra and a silver Toyota Yaris were in collision with each other.

Both cars were blocking the road, and police put a road closure in place. The road has now reopened, but the area is still congested.

No-one was injured in the incident.

Hitchin will play host to a diverse collection of artwork by five artists from the area from this evening until Sunday afternoon.

The Queen’s marching band proudly played at Hitchin Town FC on Saturday as part of the club’s annual Armed Forces Day.
