Person dead after being hit by train at Hatfield Station

A person died at the scene after being hit by a train at Hatfield Station this morning.

British Transport Police have confirmed that a person hit by a train at Hatfield Station was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers were called shortly before 10.30am and attended alongside the ambulance service.

A spokeswoman for the police said: “The incident has been declared non suspicious.”

A commuter informed the Welwyn Hatfield Times that the station had been evacuated.
