A pensioner is being treated by paramedics at the roadside after her car crashed head on into a tree in Stevenage Old Town.
The woman in her 70s was removed from her blue Mini and placed on a stretcher by paramedics after her car hit a tree at the rear of Waitrose shortly after 12.30pm.
She was conscious and stable a police officer said at the scene.
The north end of Primett Road has been closed by police, with a fire engine in support.
