A pensioner is being treated by paramedics at the roadside after her car crashed head on into a tree in Stevenage Old Town.
The road was shut off as the emergency services dealt with the aftermath of the smash.The woman in her 70s was removed from her blue Mini and placed on a stretcher by paramedics after her car hit a tree at the rear of Waitrose shortly after 12.30pm.
She was conscious and stable a police officer said at the scene.
The north end of Primett Road has been closed by police, with a fire engine in support.
