A large brown envelope of photographs has been found in Stevenage town centre – and police are keen to get them back to their rightful owner.

The photographs are mainly family shots from the 1970s and old black and white photos, some of which date back to 1919.

There are also newspaper articles and airmail letters from Israel to Iris and Peter, from Jean.

The package was found a few weeks ago has been handed into Stevenage Police Station – and now officers would like to trace who it belongs to.

Anyone who has lost the package or has information on the owner should call 101.
