New homes to be built in people’s gardens?

UP to 12 new homes could be built in the gardens of people’s properties on a Comet country high street.

Grand Union Housing Group (GUHG) is working with residents on Arlesey High Street and Arlesey Town Council to discuss the possibility of using gardens in both private and social ownership to provide between six and 12 homes.

Geoff Evans, business development manager for GUHG, said: “We are in the very earliest stages of discussing this idea and are keen to work closely with local people, the town council and a developer to see if there’s a way we could take it forward.

“At GUHG we are always looking at areas of land where people may no longer want such large gardens, where we could help provide more affordable housing.”
