A man who was reported missing from Stevenage has been found safe and well, a police spokeswoman has confirmed this morning.

Herts police issued a public appeal yesterday to trace Samuel Allen, 71, who had last been seen in the town during the early hours of Saturday, December 23.

The police spokeswoman thanked the public and media for sharing the appeal, confirming he had been located safe and well.
