Letchworth and Offley Morris Men celebrate May Day

MORRIS men have been celebrating May Day today (Tuesday) by entertaining schoolchildren and residents.

Letchworth Morris Men and their Offley counterparts have been taking part in the festivities, which has included dancing around a maypole.

The Letchworth GC group also visited infant and primary schools in the town to speak about the tradition, as well as holding a display in the town centre.

Offley Morris Men will be performing maypole and country dancing at the British Schools Museum in Hitchin on Monday from 10am to 12.30pm.
