Burglars smashed into a health food shop in Hitchin through the back window before ransacking it and damaging a storage box.

Police said the break-in at Holland & Barratt, in Hermitage Road, happened between 6pm on Tuesday, May 29, and 8.15am the next morning.

Burglars broke in through the back window before throwing rubbish around the shop and causing damage to a storage box. They then left in an unknown direction.

Police told the Comet this morning that so far nobody had been arrested.
