An annual event aimed at raising the profile of a thriving commercial street was a resounding success at the weekend.

Hitchin’s Hermitage Road Weekend, supported by the Hitchin BID, included a classic car show, live music and competitions.

Felix Camfield-Walker, of funky hair salon Farley’s, sponsored the event. He said: “It was a fantastic success. On Saturday shops had stalls outside and yesterday was the main car show, with about 50 classic vehicles.

“The whole point of the weekend is to raise the profile of the street, which is absoutely buzzing and one of the most commercially-viable streets in Hitchin.”
Felix established the H-Town Classic and Dub Club last year. He said: “At our last meeting we had a Lamborghini, custom bicycles, a 1950s tractor and everything in between.”
