Multiple crews tackle large haystack fire near Hitchin

Crews remain at the scene of a large haystack fire near Hitchin that started overnight.

The blaze, close to King’s Walden was attended by firefighters from Hitchin and Wheathampstead fire stations. They were also supported by members of Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue service, who helped supply water.

Crews from Baldock & Letchworth and Stevenage are now at the scene having taken over from earlier firefighters, as the operation continues.
