The head of Barnwell School is delighted with this year’s results, which include “fabulous individual successes”.

Acting Headteacher Tony Fitzpatrick said there are many thrilled students “that have not only achieved, but surpassed their targets giving them the opportunity to progress to their chosen career path via further education or apprenticeship.”

Year 13 students achieved a 98 per cent pass rate in A2 and equivalent qualifications, while

100 per cent of level 3 BTEC students obtained a pass or better.

Most students who hoped to go to University have been successful in gaining a place, Mr Fitzpatrick said.

Katherine Onyett - A*, A*,A*, A (chemistry, ICT, maths, Physics) - York University

Anil Patel A*,A*,A*, A (maths, further maths, physics, biology) - London School of Economics

Ben Evans A*, A, A (biology, Maths, physics)

Morgan Blatter A*, A* (English lit, fine art)

Jordan Watson A*, A* (drama, Eng lit)

BTEC Sport

Glen Durrant, James March, Edward Saxton, Scott Wilson, Mitchell Stepien, Emma Stewart - three distinction*

Katherine Glennon - two Distinction*, Distinction

Emily Mitchell, Lizzie Sutherhill, Sam Thorpe – two Distinction*

BTEC Dance

Stefan Healy - two Distinctions

A mosaic heritage trail created by schoolchildren and social housing tenants is set to adorn town centre walls in Sandy, Potton and Biggleswade – and locals are invited to have their say on the designs.
