A charity in Letchworth hopes to set up a new project that will help it form connections with local schools with a Big Give Christmas Challenge.

Garden House Hospice Care hopes to make links with schools to offer support for teachers to help bereaved children.

The hospice says The Big Give Christmas Challenge is an easy and straightforward way of helping it build those relationships. It is asking people to fill out an online form and donations will be matched via The Big Give.

A spokeswoman at GHHC said: “The project will involve recruiting a new schools coordinator who will lead school visits to the hospice where children and young people can work with patients on arts and crafts or reminiscence projects and providing information to help teachers support bereaved children in their care.”

The Big Give Challenge online form is now open until midday on December 5.
