Archant

Three people are set to stand trial in connection with the alleged trafficking for sex of two under-age girls.

Stevenage residents Maiwand Abbasi, 19, of Archer Road, Yar Mohammed, 22, of Inskip Crescent, and Talia Whitlock, 19, of Ayr Close, appeared at Cambridge Crown Court yesterday (Tuesday) for a preliminary hearing.

Both Mr Abbasi and Mr Mohammed are accused of obtaining sexual services from a 14-year-old girl in Stevenage.

Ms Whitlock has been charged with two counts of arranging the prostitution of a 14-year-old girl and one count of arranging the travel of another person (two girls) when a third person is likely to perform a criminal act.

No pleas were entered, but a provisional trial date of January 19 next year was scheduled. All three are on bail.
