A much-loved musician and allotment enthusiast will be performing at a garden centre today (Friday).

Chas Hodges of rockney duo Chas n Dave will be at Codicote Garden Centre to entertain visitors. The Aston piano player who has an allotment on the London Road in Stevenage will also be signing copies of his book Chas and his Rock n Roll Allotment.

Don Ellwood, manager of the centre, said: “We are thrilled that Chas will be visiting the garden centre from 3pm to 4pm to sign copies of his book which features a series of anecdotes about his life as a musician and amateur gardener, and sing us some of his songs.”

The event is part of the centre’s Grow Your Own open weekend (Friday, Saturday and Monday) promoting homegrown fruit and veg and its 40 plots up for rent.
