Police were at the scene of a burglary in Baldock earlier today where a grey BMW was recovered in connection with a string of heists.

It has been confirmed that the incident in Mercia Road is linked with three other burglaries in Hertfordshire – which happened in Little Acres in Ware, Saffron Close in Hoddesdon and London Road in Hertford Heath.

Officers stopped a silver Ford Mondeo in Northampton this afternoon following a police pursuit in connection with the four offences.

A 50-year-old man from Essex has been arrested by officers from Northamptonshire Police.

Two other men fled the scene and the police are trying to locate them.

Anyone with information should contact the police via the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 309 of January 3, or report information online at herts.police.uk/report.

Alternatively you can report information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
