Police have closed Mercia Road in Baldock following a burglary

Police were at the scene of a burglary in Baldock earlier today where a grey BMW was recovered in connection with a string of heists.

It has been confirmed that the incident in Mercia Road is linked with three other burglaries in Hertfordshire – which happened in Little Acres in Ware, Saffron Close in Hoddesdon and London Road in Hertford Heath.

Officers stopped a silver Ford Mondeo in Northampton this afternoon following a police pursuit in connection with the four offences.

A 50-year-old man from Essex has been arrested by officers from Northamptonshire Police.

Two other men fled the scene and the police are trying to locate them.
