A motorist from Biggleswade who drove while more than three times the alcohol limit has been banned from the road for two years.

Tina King, of Potton Road, was also given a year-long community sentence when she appeared before Luton magistrates on Thursday last week.

The 53-year-old had at an earlier hearing admitted being at the wheel of a Peugeot 206 in Potton Road when she gave a reading of 114 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the limit being 35 microgrammes.

Chairman of the bench Godfrey Willis banned her from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 24 months — obligatory for the offence — and also ordered her to pay a £60 fine, £85 in costs and an £85 surcharge.

The driving ban will be reduced by 24 weeks if King successfully completes a drink-drive rehabilitation course by September 3, 2018.
