An Arlesey pub has received a certificate of appreciation from the Royal British Legion in recognition of its fundraising for the Poppy Appeal.

Joe MacDonald, president of the Legion’s Stotfold and Arlesey branch, presented the certificate to Teresa Jackson of the Vicar’s Inn in recognition of its “valued and considerable support”.

The Vicar’s Inn regularly sponsors Legion members, and most recently gave a donation bottle containing £472.70 to the Royal British Legion County Welfare Fund.

Legion branch vice-chairman David Langridge said: “The Vicar’s Inn and its customers periodically sponsor our branch members – including in a cycling event recently.

“Special thanks must go to Paul Blogden, Paul Watts, Ian Swift and Huw Connell – who are branch members sponsored for their achievements.”
