Another house was burgled in Hitchin last night.

There was yet another house burglary in Hitchin last night, a day after there were at least eight in 12 hours – and detectives are linking the crimes.

Police said the latest burglary happened in Talisman Street, between 6.30pm and 10.35pm, with the thieves smashing their way in through a back door.

The gang took a gold twist-style chain necklace, and four yellow gold rings – all with diamonds, and one with a sapphire as well.

The items stolen in Tuesday’s burglaries included jewellery, wristwatches, power tools and a safe.

Detectives are linking this burglary to the eight that happened in Hitchin on Tuesday.

Anyone who thinks they may have been offered any of these items for sale, or has any other information that could help the investigation, should call police on 101, quoting crime reference G1/18/764 for last night’s burglary.
