Letchworth Arcadians Musical Society will stage beloved Disney musical Beauty and the Beast this spring.

The Broadway show, which has been performed in 37 countries, features original songs written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, including 'Be Our Guest' and the title song 'Beauty and the Beast'.

The story follows Belle, who leaves her provincial town and becomes imprisoned at the Beast's castle.

If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self, but if he does not he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

Arcadians are one of the first adult companies to present the show in North Herts.

Sophie Walker and Harry Pearce will star in the lead roles with the other characters played by Letchworth Arcadians stalwarts.

The show is directed by David Walker, with musical direction from Hannah Long and costumes designed by Jacqui Maddison.
