A Hitchin-based charcuterie meat supplier is celebrating the launch of a new product in Aldi stores.

The Greek Farmer's best-selling 'Air Dried Beef' will be available as a Special Buy in selected stores across the south east and east of England.

Based at Langley Hill Farm, the supplier won Aldi’s Next Big Thing, a TV series on Channel 4 that offers British businesses the chance to pitch their products to the supermarket and secure a contract.

"We’ve had a whirlwind three years - from starting the business to winning Aldi’s Next Big Thing – and now returning to its stores again in 2024. It’s amazing to see how far we’ve come in such a short space of time," he said.

"We’re very proud of our partnership with Aldi and grateful for the success that has come of it. We look forward to continuing our partnership over the coming months, which will allow us to keep growing our business."

The Greek Farmer began trading in 2021, after Tony moved to Langley Hill Farm with his family and converted the farm’s old grain silo into a smokehouse.

The business is the only British producer of Greek-influenced charcuterie, inspired by Tony’s Greek Cypriot heritage.

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, added: "Since making their first appearance on Aldi’s Next Big Thing, The Greek Farmer team has continued to impress us.

"Tony’s business is a brilliant example of the small British businesses we aim to promote through and it is fantastic to see them returning to our stores."
