A man was hospitalised following another serious collision this morning on the A1(M) between Welwyn and Stevenage.

A police spokesman said officers were called after a collision between a red Harley Davidson motorbike and a lorry, on the southbound carriageway between Junction 7 and 6 at about 10.19am.

An ambulance service spokesman said paramedics treated the man, believed to be in his 30s, for a suspected broken leg before taking him to Stevenage’s Lister Hospital around two hours later.

All lanes have now reopened but there are still delays on the stretch.

It follows a separate collision involving a motorcyclist near Junction 6 (Welwyn) at about 7.30am today, which caused long delays in both directions.
